I need another Lily bird picture!!!

Today Jupiter discovered a green frisbee on the beach that said Glen Lake Animal Clinic. I was convinced that it was from Michigan....but I just checked...the Michigan one is Sleeping Bear Animal Clinic.

I'm having that "it's time to go to michigan" quivers every time the breeze is just right or the sky is just that color blue or the clouds are just he perfect puffiness.

Speaking of pictures....I like Buzz the Bee's rear view (this is where jupiter hangs out when I'm gone. but i totally failed him and didn't dress him for halloween)

Memorylines Coming Soon

Hi everyone,
Please come join us. May 11 and 12 at 7pm and May 13 at 3pm.

Presented by The Santa Fe Opera and The Lensic Performing Arts Center
A Littleglobe Production:

Memorylines
Voces de Nuestras Jornadas
Directed by Molly Sturges

A contemporary opera

Memorylines brings together individuals, ages 8-87 across cultural, economic and generational lines in Santa Fe to create an original new work directed by Molly Sturges. Together with an artist team including Valerie Martinez, David Dunn, Chris Jonas, Rulan Tangen, David Gallegos, Chrissie Orr, Penny Rae and Jaime Becerril, the participants will perform the new work based upon personal maps of their lives and the collective intersections that emerged from a three month intensive creative process involving video, acoustic ecology, movement, music, visual arts, and writing.

Protecting the Criminal

This is from ACORN head organizer - I thought it was a good piece. Write your congress rep!!!
-----------
New Orleans Not surprisingly, New Century, once almost the king of the subprime lenders, filed for bankruptcy while trying to sell what was not bolted down and laid off about 3000 people or half of their staff. The CEO, Brad Morrice, who Jordan Ash, several ACORN leaders, and I had met along with members of their board and top staff last year in our first formal meeting with New Century in the first week of his job, announced that he was sorry it had come to this.

We did a press release demanding that the lessons of the failure be understood and the right thing be done for the mortgage holders caught in this mess.

Mike Shea, from our housing operation, added a good point in talking to Kevin Whelan, our communications director, that there should be a moratorium on foreclosures for mortgage holders of a subprime going under. In fairness, why should the subprime be protected while the little guy still ends up taking a fall? This is a solid demand.

Jordan has told me as recently as last week that we have more than 100 New Century cases in our office that we are not able to get the company to resolve simply because they no longer have the staff to solve the problem or the money to buy back the problems. In one case they had rewritten one of the mortgages correctly after the buyback, and we were stuck because they would no longer sign the papers and execute the agreement. Out of money! Out of time!

The analogy would be equivalent to protecting the criminal, while walking away from the victim.

There needs to be a stop to all foreclosures from these failing subprimes until we can put these pieces back together again. And, it needs to be done now!

Boulder group update...

Hi everyone,

Well we went to the "practice" opening of Daves newest venture, Centro, last night. The place looked amazing and the food was great! Another success for Dave, I predict! He really did a wonderful job putting it all together in such a short time. And who named it? Ask Dan...

Dan is now the proud new papa of a rescued horse! She was on her way to the slaughter house to eventually be dinner for someone overseas! Could not let that happen, so we brought her home. She is only 2 and stunningly beautiful! Now Dusty has a girlfriend. I know Dan is soooo thrilled about the whole thing! Well, at least Joe and I are!

Deb, we definitely plan on coming to NM for Molly's production. So count us in. I am working on getting Zach to join us, but who knows. It would be fun to celebrate the May birthdays all together. As far as MI goes, we don't have any concrete dates yet, but we were thinking the end of June. Of course, I'll be driving with Joe and dan will probably join us at some point. Zach and Chaz plan to drive themselves.

Will send pics and some words from Joe this afternoon. Love to you all! Can't wait to see you in Santa Fe.
