Pics from my photo class

Hi all -- I'm back in San Fran (ahhh the joy of dampness!). CJ, Mols and I went for a great hike today at the Tent Rocks. I highly recommend it to all if you get a chance (it's in between Abq and Santa Fe).

So my class wasn't all that great and I can't say that my actual photography improved. But I think I learned a lot about photography. These are my best pics from the class.

The pics of the young women are in an old abandoned hospital. The cowboy is Phil who rode his horse from Arkansas to Santa Fe -- he "yes maam's", drinks from a canteen (really!), and makes money by guiding people on horseback trips, modeling, and getting extra jobs in cowboy movies.

bye for now

From Houston

Writing to your from Houston and loved the photos of Las Vegas and Q's ballet class. Really laughed at Q's message to Dougie. Nice eh?

Amazing to be back in Houston. I needed a quiet night and am staying in a great B and B in midtown. Walked two miles under lush arched trees to MD Anderson. Yesterday, I was flown in three tiny planes by an organization called Angel Flight from Santa Fe. These pilots donate their time and planes to take people places for cancer care. Sitting in the tiny airport in Brownwood texas with pilot Dave eating peanut butter crackers as he tried to explain rural Texas conservatism and beef "production" to me was something I will always cherish. Approaching Houston from the dried agricultural texas planes in a tiny plane, seats covered in acrylic panther print, with pilot Roy was equally magical-something out of le petit prince. Did I mention I want to learn to fly? CJ and I agree, it will be something to do when we turn 60 or so.

Being back at MD Anderson is incredible. I feel spared, blessed. I feel like a parallel life exists- one where I come here every week for radiation. I still can't belive it and neither can they. The main thing is that they have connected a virus I contracted and treated in college that causes cervical cancer with this cancer. It is not proven but they are working on it. Love to all! Mol

What's mispronounced in Vegas..... Is really mispronounced.........

The All Star game was a bit hit in town last weekend. We were all able to attend the game, and see the biggest basketball stars in the league, in all their overpayed glory, putting their talents on display. The crowd was full of celeb's, including the U.S Director of Culture. More on that later......

As I gazed at Las Vegas's version of the Eiffel Tower, I thought to myself...... "Do the French think we are 100% out of our minds, or what?" We have, however, embraced their culture here in the U.S. We are a coffee-crazed nation, too many of us smoke, ion too big a hurry, and we tend to opt to the bitchy side of the equation way too much. How French? Oiu, Oiu! The French have graced us with a wonderful acrobatic truope, the Cirque Du Soleil, which we enjoyed this past Saturday in Vegas. Thanks again to Dave for the tickets.

Our Director of A.T.I.C, (All That Is Culture) Doug Query, was quoted as saying he really enjoyed the Crock Del La Sully show. "or whatever those damn Frenchies call it". Ahhh..., I can feel the love of the French for us Amercians wafting over the Seinne as we speak..........

It's obvious as we age, we shrink.
Although I think Mark is actually shorter than Dad.

The person taking the picture yelled out, just as he snapped the photo, "hey, the guy in the blue sweater has his fly open". Which would explain the lovely smile coming from Dad.

I'm not sure if the look of love coming from Dad's face is the remark about the fly, or that he is flashing back to his horse coming in 4th earlier in the day. Damn that jockey!

Word on the street is that the Kentucky Query's will be making a July 4th appearance at Crystal this summer! 3 Pines will be full of Q's.

Boulder Joe's birthmom makes contact!!

Hi everyone,

Through some very generous gifts, we have been able to track down Joes birthmother, Georgina. We recieved word from her today through a third party. Joe talks about her, so we felt it was important to have as much information as possible for him when (and if) he wants it. She was so happy to get pictures of him, and sent back some of herself. She describes herself as happy and likes to "laugh and tease". Hmmmmm, maybe that is where that great sense of humor and infectious smile came from! Anyway, we are thrilled to have her in our lives and hope to be able to visit her one day with Joe.

Joe is also thrilled, and knew right away who this was!

May, Memorylines and Michigan

Hi dear ones,

Oh that little Lily. She is the cutest thing ever! Q and I will be in Michigan no earlier than mid-July. Not one, not even one taker on the cross country trip with Q, and Mukh and myself. We plan on kidnapping Dougie however. I just know he'll love it once he stops resisting.

Memorylines is set to take place the weekend of May 12th. I would suggest renting a vacation house. There are many here. Just need to reserve early. I would love to have many of you here. It will be very special!

Loved having Dan, Sonya and Joe here. Cree is sitting right next to me. Loving having her here too. Every day blessings, every day gratitude. xoxo Mol

back from our road trip

Hi All,

Dan, Joe and I are back in Boulder after a wonderful (but very short) visit in Santa Fe. They are both sound asleep and will give you their input on the trip tomorrow. It was great to see Cree, Molly, Chris J, Quinner, and Muhkti. Joe had a great time with Quinn visiting the goats and playing in the dirtpiles. Molly looked wonderful!! We are planning on going back in May for the big production. Anyone else planning to be there?

Well, off to bed to try to sleep. Love to you all.

Dreamin' of Michigan

Yikes! So much activity in the fam lately. Wish we could be involved in all the family gatherings happening. Right now, our daily goal is simple--to get more than 3 consecutive hours of sleep. (Ah yes, this too shall pass.)

Deb: glad to know i can continue to tune out politics for a while yet! Makes me feel better about not reading the newspaper right now. See you next week!

Zbo & the Ladies: Hey! Who was supposed to start the postcards?

Joe and I are already dreaming of Michigan, and since Mols brought it up, are there any other plans for the summer yet?...

Love to all
Jen

He Almost Landed It

Hi All,

It's a Michigan day here, too. A balmy 9 degrees, nary a peek of sun from N.Dakota to Cleveland, and........shock of shocks.... it's snowing. I am not exactly sure where the dream went wrong, but I woke up and my entire family bailed to warmer, sunnier western climates.

Enclosed are some photo's of Kev sporting his lastest wardrobe accessories. He is back in school,

and doing a great job with life's little basics, like eating with his own hands, and making his pants

zipper do as he asks.

The U.S. and Canadian snowboarding judges both gave him 9.5's, but the Russian judge, still

harboring some cold-war hostility, only gave him a 7.

Enjoy the warm weather, and send me a photo of the sun.

From Mol

Hi everyone,
We are awaiting the arrival of one Cree and also Dan, Sonya and Joe from Boulder . Can't wait! Quinn drew a map of her world which included: where the polar bears lived, the big place where cree lived, the beach of australia, her cottage, crystal lake, antartica, and the swimming pool. Her cosmology is a little more complex: "first we die, and then there are the dinosaurs, and then there are the disney princesses."

Mom, seems that everyone is waiting for your political analyses. What is the hold up here?

We are looking at maybe heading to Michigan mid-July. Anyone want to drive with Quinn and myself? We are looking at taking back roads, through south dakota and minnesota. Sound familiar?

Much love! Mol

Hi Family, it's me, Joe.

Hi Deb and Chris and Molly and Joe and Jen and baby Lilly and Quinn and Z'bo and everyone else,
this is me Joe. I like the picture of Jupiter in the blanket, he looks like a baby! I am playing with my friend Tamiko today.
We get to go see Quinn on Saturday. Chris (Cree) is going to be there too! I'm going to bring my new godzilla that daddy bought me. Mommy said he has to stop buying me so many toys, but he said he was going to break the rule!
That's all
Joe

Deb -- we are all waiting for your analysis

of the democratic candidates? What do you think? Who has a chance? And the republicans?...what are they going to do?

Raindrops keep falling on my head.....

Hi All -- Jupiter and I got stuck out in the rain at the beach yesterday. Can't remember the last time I was in the rain and didn't care about getting wet. Quite freeing...

We both came home shivering....and wrapped ourselves in blankets.

Latest News from Sturgacobi in LA

(don't worry it's clean laundry!)

We've been busy out here in LA...

Jen went back to Jersey for a week to introduce Lily to the Jacobus mob. Then Joe went out to Santa Fe for the weekend to see Molly, Chris & Quinn. Today we're enjoying being together, all three of us, for the first time in 3 weeks! And just this morning we got to hang with Dan for a couple of hours and see the new Intrago technology. Jen officially started working this past week, part-time, which means we also have ventured into the world of nanny-hood for Lily. So far so good. And Joe spent his first day alone with Lily on Friday, while Jen went into the office. It seemed dad and daughter had a nice day of bonding, after working out the kinks with some crying in the morning.

I'm hoping for more discussion about presidential candidates on this blog, as I'm working with 1/2 a brain these days and almost no time to read newspapers!

Friday, February 9, 2007

So who do we want for the democratic nominee?

Deb -- what do you think about the democratic gang? and who do you think will be positioned by the republicans?

I was going to give money to obama but.....now that he is going the route of big dollars and no accountability, i'm not going to give it to him. i understand why he would do that....but it makes me really uncomfortable.

Godzilla Movies

Hey Boulder Joe -- I'm in Michigan now...it is really cold. Really, really cold.

I read in a magazine that a Japanese company opened up a clothing store in New York City. And on one wall they are showing Godzilla movies all day long. I bet you would like to watch Godzilla all day long!

bye for now, chris

EXCITED TO SEE YOU . I WILL BE THERE ON MARCH 2ND AND I AM

THE SNOW MELTS. HAVE YOUR MOM OR DAD SHOW YOU A CALENDER
AND THEN YOU CAN SEE WHEN MARCH 2ND IS.

I AM SURE ALL OF YOUR LITTLE BOY COUSINS ARE MISSING YOU-YOU WERE
VERY NICE TO SHARE TOYS WITH THEM. THAT'S IT-TALK TO YOU LATER.

Herds of Parrots...

or gaggles or whatever you call them....flew over my head as I swam in the outside pool in my new health club. Yes...all of you are welcome to come join me whenever you are in town.

The parrots were hysterical -- loud, hurried, swarming...and then decorated the empty branches of a tree.

Made my day

From Joe! (Boulder)

Hi Deb, This is me, Joe. I'm back from Michigan. I liked it, I liked playing with David, Ryan and Matthew. I did not play with Baby Leah. She would not share her toys with me. When will you be here? I really miss you. That's just it.
Joe
